Who are you waiting for permission from to become who you want to be? Who are you waiting for to tell you where to go, what to do, and more importantly, what not to do? Who have you given the authority to make your choices? Who are you waiting for to say yes?
After being unable to even finish my second painting (thanks to the amount of pressure I decided to put on myself after my first painting ever was really good), I decided to give myself permission to play, to create like no one is watching, to stop checking myself. To this day, this early painting reminds me of how soon the instinct of what kind of artist I wanted to be started kicking in. I give myself the permission to be me, to create what I want to, every day. Highly recommend.
